   BICAR®Z in the feeding for Poultry 

Bicar® Z is largely used in poultry feed as a source of sodium without chloride, taking part in the improvement of the electrolytic balance.

Sodium bicarbonate contributes to a correct feed intake for broilers reared in heat stress conditions; it optimizes the hen layer performance and the eggshell quality.

The incorporation of sodium bicarbonate provides the following benefits:

   

BROILERS and TURKEYS

  • Providing sodium, it contributes to increase the weight gain, the feed conversion and the feed consumption;
  • When replacing sodium chloride by sodium bicarbonate, water consumption is reduced by 5 % and the quality of the bed is improved;
  • It contributes to maintain the electrolyte balance (BE = Na + K – Cl) in the correct range: providing sodium without chloride, which must be minimized in the diets;
  • Incorporation of sodium bicarbonate reduces ascitis problems;
  • There is a direct relation between the intake of sodium bicarbonate and a better yield in the ionophore coccidiostates;
  • Increasing doses of sodium bicarbonate improve the performances for broilers reared in heat stress conditions and at high density; moreover it contributes to the blood pH reduction and to the reduction of the rectal temperature.

 HENS
  • The use of sodium bicarbonate in the feeding has proved to significantly improve egg quality: thickness of the eggshell, number of rough eggs and specific weight.
