Solvay® Sodium Bicarbonate, thanks to its absorbing and neutralizing properties, will help you to eliminate odours without masking them. Besides being completely soluble and delicate to your hands, it also helps to avoid moist formation and to fight dust mites responsible for many allergies.

Fresh curtains, rugs and sofas

To refresh the fabric of your sofa, rugs, carpets and curtains treat them with some Solvay® Sodium Bicarbonate! Its chemico-physical properties prevent dust mite and mold proliferation which is often responsible for unpleasant odours.  

Just sprinkle some product on the surface that needs to be treated, let stand for about 15 min. (24 h in case of obstinate stains; or brush delicately to help the product penetrate the fibers) and then clean or vacuum up. Very useful also to wash those delicate or colourful fabrics that recommend hand washing instead of machine washing.

Farewell animal urine stains…

Whereas many products simply mask unpleasant odours with their nice “perfume” and fail to clean up what your pets have accidentally left behind on your carpet, the chemico-physical properties of Solvay® Sodium Bicarbonate make it the right product to completely eliminate and neutralize difficult to remove stains and persistent pet urine odours.

After having well cleaned the fabric as recommended by the producer on the label, sprinkle some Solvay® Sodium Bicarbonate on the stain and let stand for some hours or even more. Then brush up and vacuum clean.

IMPORTANT: before cleaning your fabrics and carpets always try out the product on a hidden area to test colourfastness.

… and farewell other stains!

Solvay® Sodium Bicarbonate is the ideal product to degrease and eliminate stains without scratching the surface! Its crystals dissolve in water and the fact that it is slightly abrasive helps you to treat your objects and surfaces in a most delicate and safe way. Here’s how:

Prepare a mixture of water and Solvay® Sodium Bicarbonate (1 part of water and 3 of product) and apply it on your window frames, silver items and jewelry and so on. All you need is a damp sponge or cotton cloth to clean, tap water to rinse and a soft cloth to dry, and of course… Solvay® Sodium Bicarbonate!

Tired of smelly confined spaces?

Unfresh smelling refrigerators, freezers, shoe cabinets and wardrobes are history from now on! Just place an open box of Solvay® Sodium Bicarbonate in any closed space that needs refreshing or poor about 150 g (1/2 mug) of Solvay® Sodium Bicarbonate in any jar of container, and unpleasant odours will vanish. Because the chemico-physical properties of Solvay® Sodium Bicarbonate prevent dust mite and mold proliferation, persistent odours are neutralized and eliminated.

How about a fresh ash-tray, shoes and dustbin?

Are you annoyed by those dustbin odours, smelly jumpers and bad smelling ash-trays? Here’s a practical solution: just poor some Solvay® Sodium Bicarbonate (50 g or 2 tablespoons) on the bottom and replace each time you empty.

You won’t have to worry anymore about bad odours.

Clean surfaces without scratching

Solvay® Sodium Bicarbonate is a powerful stain remover. Its crystals are sufficiently abrasive to eliminate stains, but, being entirely dissolvable in water, not enough to scratch surfaces. Besides, no residues are left, therefore Solvay® Sodium Bicarbonate  is also environmental friendly!

To clean washable surfaces without scratching them or eliminating grease, pencil signs and so on, here’s what you should do:

Mix 1 part of water with 3 of Solvay® Sodium Bicarbonate, apply on tiles, walls and other washable surfaces, using a sponge. Then rinse well and dry. To clean window frames sprinkle some product on a damp sponge and rub well. Then rinse and dry.
